Valerie Prottsman
Valerie Prottsman appears in the role of Kitty in The Drowsy Chaperone for Fort Myers Theatre. She was previously seen at Fort Myers Theatre in as Jovie in Elf the Musical and in the ensemble of Beauty and the Beast. Both represented Valerie’s first foray into community theater. However, she’s no stranger to performing in front of crowds, having been in both show choir and marching band.
She credits friend and employer, Terry Lavy, for persuading her to venture into theater and she was, predictably, hooked after working with Director/Choreographer Robin Dawn Ryan in Beauty and the Beast. However, she eagerly tackled the role of Jovie as Elf had been her favorite Christmas movie since she was a child watching holiday movies with the family – “along with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
Among Prottsman’s varied talents and skills, she is a certified pistol instructor, “mainly because women don’t like to be trained by men.”
