Shaunte’ Nichole Manuel is Dussie Mae in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’
On stage through March 11 in the Foulds Theatre at the Alliance for the Arts is Theatre Conspiracy’s production of August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Playing the role of Ma Rainey’s lesbian play thing, Dussie Mae, is Shaunte’ Nichole Manuel.
The Punta Gorda native, Manuel enjoys singing, dancing, acting and writing. The 35-year-old has a passion for music, children and helping people in need. In her spare time, she’s actively involved in ministry, mentoring teens and spending time with family.
