you-cannot-have-her-06Opening December 1 in the Foulds Theater at the Alliance for the Arts is Theatre Conspiracy’s production of William Wycherley’s The Country Wife. Directed by Karen Goldberg, the play stars Shelley Sanders as Margery, Mitch Haley as Harry Horner, Jim Yarnes as Pinchwife, Dena Galyean as Alithea, Stephen Hooper as Doctor Quack, Elvis Mortley as Sir Jasper Fidget, Cantrella Canady as juan-alejandro-04Lady Fidget, Tom Marsh as Sparkish, Tera Nicole Miller as Squeamish, and Juan Alejandro as Harcourt

Alejandro may just be the busiest actor in Southwest Florida. This past summer, he played the role of Richard Miller in Lab Theater’s production of Deborah Zoe Laufer’s Sirens. That role followed his portrayal of a waiter in training by the name of Antoine in An Empty Plate in the Café du Grand Boeuf, also for The Lab. But he really came into his own as Mortimer Brewster in the CFABS Community Players’ production of Arsenic & Old Lace.

Lab Theater audiences enjoyed his performance as Ty in last December’s Laboratory Theater 24-Hour Playwriting Project winner, The Bird Flew, and folks who participated in the inaugural SoCo Cultural District’s walk-about got to enjoy Juan and Empty Plate cast mate Marta Sand juan-and-dena-02in a ten-minute, two-actor vignette called Ferris Wheel. Juan was participated in the New Play Contest staged readings at last Saturday’s Theatre Conspiracy fundraiser.
