Lab Theater hosting one-night fundraiser for actor Danica Murray
The show must go on. That’s ingrained in every actor from the time they pick up their very first script. But what happens when an actor gets ill and absolutely cannot go on? That’s when the local and the theater community pulls together to help.
Danica Murray is a local young actress who has appeared on the stages at The Laboratory Theater of Florida, Florida Rep and FSW. She’s fought Cystic Fibrosis her entire life. Things took a turn for the worst recently and she was moved to Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, where she was placed at the very top of the transplant list. Miraculously, she received a new pair of lungs within days after her arrival.
In order to help defray the costs of this incredibly expensive, and absolutely life-saving surgery, The Laboratory Theater of Florida is hosting an evening of American jazz standards and show tunes, performed by local musicians and performers. There will also be silent auction items available and all proceeds will go to Danica Murray’s treatment and recovery.
Danica is learning to breathe deeply for the first time in her life. Join us as we celebrate her and help make that transition back to a normal life a little bit easier.
Individual Tickets for the 7:0o p.m. performance on Monday, June 10 are $40 per person, which includes a complimentary drink.
They are available by calling (239) 218-0481 or visiting www.LaboratoryTheaterFlorida.com or . The theater is located in the River District of Fort Myers at 1634 Woodford Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33901.
