Lexi Rae Smith makes her TheatreZone debut as Girl in Once the Musical. Lexi has been captivated by the story of Once ever since she first saw the movie. In her role, Lexi brings Girl to life as a young mother with a strong sense of empathy who encourages the heartbroken Guy to rediscover his love for music. Lexi’s mastery of dialects, including a Czech accent, adds depth and authenticity to her portrayal of the character.

Area audiences enjoyed Lexi’s portrayal of Ann Margaret (and Dixie) in Elvis A Musical Revolution at Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. She was seen previously by Off Broadway Palm audiences as Jovie in Elf the Musical (2023), Sue Larson in Not Now, Darling and as a principal in 2022’s Ha! Ha! Ho! The Holiday Show.

Lexi’s regional credits include Anna King in Dear Soldier Boy, Little Red in Into the Woods, Rusty in Footloose, Emma in Just Desserts: A Musical Bake-Off (Circa 21 Dinner Playhouse), Steward on the Polar Express Train Ride, Emcee/Vocalist in Gershwin & Friends and The Baker/Ensemble in Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (Nettle Creek Players). Her educational theater credits include Sally Bowles in Cabaret (Pittsburgh Playhouse), #8 in The Wolves (Pittsburgh Playhouse) and Hayley Mills in Step in Time (Point Park University).

Smith’s film credits include the principal in Two Truths and a Lie, Apophenia and The End of August for Point Park University Cinema.

She was also a featured actor in The Cell Cycle for Expii, Inc.

Lexi has a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre (and minor in Human Resource Management) from Point Park University (2020).

Outside of the theater, she is an avid reader, traveler and animal lover.
